Giant & Pixie in NYC, Holmes Starts Friday

The Giant and The Pixie: NY SummerFest

There's no New York Fringe Festival this year so there's extra attention being paid to two major summer theatre festivals in Manhattan: The Midtown International Theatre Festival and the NY SummerFest - I'm fortunate enough to have plays in both.

My evening-length play The Giant and The Pixie will run at the Hudson Guild Theater from September 21-24, I'm really looking forward to revisiting this piece... it's been reworked a bit since it's world premiere at Chance Theater in 2008. And I've shared that my short play Phone Friend will have it's world premiere at the MITF in July, I just had a Skype rehearsal with the cast - that piece may be a little heartbreaker. Both plays are directed by Jonathan Schlieman who I am so excited to work with again! The Giant and The Pixie a contemporary fairy tale set in a shopping mall NY Summer Fest Hudson Guild Theatre September 21-24, 2017 Details to be announced Andi Norris and Jara Jones in the world premire production of The Giant and the Pixie.

My short play Grandpa and the Gay Rabbi was named as a Finalist for the City Theatre National Award for Short Playwriting! That means it will have a reading in Miami as part of the CityWrights festival, which I had never before attended but am looking forward to taking part (June 22-26).

The theatre is "THE ONLY THEATER COMPANY IN THE U.S. SOLELY DEDICATEDTO DEVELOPING AND PRODUCING TEN-MINUTE PLAYS YEAR-ROUND" - so that's cool. :-)
