"Seven Deadly Tens (A Sinful Collection of Short Plays)" by Jonathan Josephson - Original Works "Seven Deadly Tens (A Sinful Collection of Short Plays)" by Jonathan Josephson - Original Works Publishing "Seven Deadly Tens (A Sinful Collection of Short Plays)" by Jonathan Josephson Published by Original Works Original Works Publishing has announced the publication of SEVEN DEADLY TENS (A Sinful Collection of Short Plays) by Jonathan Josephson. Each of the internationally-produced, award-winning 10-minute plays was inspired by one of Dante's Seven Deadly Sins, playfully mixing stories of humanity at its worst with wry humor. The plays have been performed by professional theatres, community theatres, colleges and high schools throughout the U.S., Canada, and Ireland. "Every one of these pieces has a special place in my heart," said Josephson, who is also Artistic Director of the multi Award-winning Unbound Productions and a creator of wildly popular immersive theatre events Wicked Lit, Mystery Lit, and History Lit. "I wrote these plays over a period of ten years, each inspired by real events and genuine acts of human nastiness. They range in tone from heartfelt tragi-comedy to farcey farce-farce, and plots include everything from a Wild West "Tagline Shootout" in a San Francisco advertising agency to a bloody reimagining of two of Shakespeare's most iconic minor characters. It's a hoot." Acting editions of the new release are available for pre-order now for only $9.99 and includes free shipping. A Google Play eBook is available now followed shortly by the Amazon Kindle edition. Wicked Lit 2013: Jonathan Josephson Interview

Check out this video version of Hollywood Gothique's first-ever Halloween Horror Podcast, featuring an interview with Jonathan Josephson, one of the founders of the Wicked Lit Halloween Theatre Festival. For 2013, Wicked Lit presents dramatizations of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's THE NEW CATACOMB, H.P. Lovecraft's THE LURKING FEAR, and Washington Irving's THE LEGEND OF SLEEPY HOLLOW -- staged in the Mountain View Mausoleum and Cemetery in Altadena. Audiences for the trio of one-act plays arrive at a central courtyard, where Story Guides divide them into groups and lead them to areas in and around the mausoleum, often moving from room to room to follow the action. The authentic atmosphere and the complete absence of the proverbial fourth wall create an immersive experience that lasts from your arrival on the grounds, until your final departure. Wicked Lit was created in 2009 by Unbound Productions, a theatre company dedicated to presenting plays based on classic literature, staged in unusual locations. The founding members are Paul Millet, Jeff G. Rack, and Jonathan Josephson, who wrote or co-wrote all three of this year's adaptations, which are being directed by Millet, Rack, and guest director Douglas Clayton. Josephson sat down earlier this week to discuss what Unbound Productions set out to achieve with the 2013 incarnation of Wicked Lit. The Wicked Lit Halloween Theatre Festival runs at the Mountain View Mausoleum and Cemetery Thrusdays through Sundays in October, plus November 1 and 2. The address is 2300 Marengo Avenue in Altadena.
