I've never really written political plays before, but the events of November 8th made something inside me crack. In addition to some newfound real-world action, I started stewing on a new idea for a parody that looks at the current political climate through the lens of everyone's favorite animated lions. I wrote the ten-minute play King Lion Is Dead a few days ago and now it's going to be included in Monday night's Playground-LA at the Zephyr Theatre. The way I see it, it' not the new king that should be the main source of fear - it's the hyenas. They have the numbers, they're the ones on the ground actually enacting an agenda. I'm pretty sure that this is going to be the beginning of a new, longer play... I guess we'll see how it goes on Monday. Tickets are $15 but I have a few Flex tickets that I can make available - lemme know! Reservations are encouraged: TICKETS
