Everything's Coming Up Holmes-es

October 27, 2016

I read articles every month or so about plays and playwrights suffering through "development hell" - plays that get reading after reading to the point that it feels like the development is the goal and not a production. For me, with my Sherlockian mash-up Holmes, Sherlock and The Consulting Detective, I honestly feel like I've been in development heaven, especially as we approach what will be the 4th staged reading of the piece November 5-6 at the Los Angeles County Arboretum. The play has a complex, inter-weaving plot that's taken me a little while to fully figure out, and having this much time and talent (fantastic directors, incredible casts!) thrown at it has only made the piece stronger, clearer and more fun. With that said, Unbound is itching to produce this thing full out! If you have a lead on a venue that might work for an immersive Baker Street experience, do let me know.

I had a great chat with BroadwayWorld about the piece, you can read that interview here.

Tickets to the reading are $15 though I may have comps available.Purchase here, or email me for details: TICKETS

Wicked Lit 2016 is entering it's final three weeks of performances at Mountain View Mausoleum and cemetery (we close 11/12) - critics and audiences are loving the show! From Hollywood Qothique: "After La Loronas and The Grove of Rashomon, this year’s Anansi and the Demons represents Jonathan Josephson’s third effort at bringing cultural diversity to Wicked Lit more, reaching beyond the canon of western horror and gothic literature to craft a story based upon African legends. This may be the best one yet."
